Philips Android TV and Google TV — not the Saphi models

Philips builds most of its mid‑range and premium TVs on Android TV or Google TV, and those pair with Zap over Wi‑Fi. You’ll know yours qualifies if it shows the Android TV or Google TV home screen and has the Google Play Store built in. Philips also sells cheaper sets on its own Saphi operating system, which uses a closed protocol that no third‑party phone remote — Zap included — can connect to. To check, open Settings ▸ About: if it lists Android TV or Google TV you’re set, and Zap gives you a full remote with a keyboard and voice search. Many Philips Android TVs also carry Ambilight controls, which Zap’s D‑pad and menu reach just like the physical remote.
