Privacy Policy
Last updated: 30 July 2026
Zap is a universal TV remote. We built it to respect your privacy: it needs no account and we collect no personal data ourselves. This explains the limited data involved, including advertising in the free version.
1. Data Zap itself collects
None. Zap has no sign-up and no server that stores your information. Your saved TVs, settings and search history stay on your device. To control your TV, Zap talks directly to it over your local Wi-Fi — this stays on your network and is not sent to us.
2. Advertising (free version)
The free version shows ads via Google AdMob. To serve and measure ads, AdMob may process your device advertising identifier (IDFA), ad-interaction and app-usage data, and coarse technical data. This may be used to track you across apps for advertising, handled by Google under its own policies.
App Tracking Transparency: on first use Zap asks permission to track. If you decline, you still get the full app and only non-personalized ads. Premium removes all ads — then no advertising data is collected.
3. Purchases
Premium is purchased through Apple. Payment is handled entirely by Apple; we never see or store your payment details.
4. Third parties
Google AdMob (advertising in the free version) and Apple (purchases and distribution). We do not sell your data and use no other tracking SDKs.
5. Children
Zap is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their data.
6. Your choices
Decline the tracking prompt or turn it off in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking, reset your Advertising Identifier, or go Premium to remove ads.
7. Changes
We may update this policy; material changes appear here with a new date.
